This is my new favorite show.
I have spent far too much time watching it.
Yes, there is a considerable gross out factor. These people will hunt, gut, cook and eat anything. If they can’t hunt it, gut it and eat it, they will blow it up. I am not even kidding.
They (actual Willie, the Yuppie businessman has) turned his parent’s little duck call manufacturing business into a multimillion dollar company. This has created a Beverly Hillbillies-type situation.
I have to say, Uncle Si is my new hero. Or maybe Jase. They are both just plain nuts and you just have to love that in a guy, especially when they are sporting the most outrageous crop of facial hair on cable television.
Be that as it may, they are a loving and warm family. They are deeply devoted to each other and it shows.
They are hilariously funny and commited to happiness. You just can’t help but get caught up in their misadventures (trying to get a beehive at night because there is nothing better than wild honey, blowing up the mother of all beaver dams, Si driving an 18-wheeler, the list goes on and on).
If you want to laugh your butt off, watch the episode titled Plan Bee. Comedy gold. There are angry bees, angry wives, and an even angrier skunk and, of course, Uncle Si. At one point, an employee admits that all the duck decoys are on the roof of their warehouse because they got in an argument about how often they update satellite images. The best part? No one bats an eye, because that is completely normal around the Robertson clan.
I can’t stop quoting Uncle Si.
