Too hot to cook

We have been having a heat wave here in So Cal. Not just blistering heat, but ridiculous humidity.

We aren’t used to humidity. We don’t really know how to handle it. We are used to dry desert air, but not this damp tropical stuff.

I haven’t been cooking most nights since it has been so damn hot. It is just too punishing to try to face firing up the stove or the oven.

Also, we have been going all over, having adventures, taking pictures, etc.

We have made this salad several times and it is worth heating up the kitchen.

I used filet instead of skirt steak and gorgonzola instead of blue cheese. Also mixed baby greens instead of arugula. Yeah, I may have an issue with not following recipes. Or directions of any kind. That is another blog entirely.
The dressing is nothing short of amazing. Mr. Smith would like to take a bath in the stuff, or at least drink it with a straw.
